Some times I'm not very bright

Monday, December 02, 2013

Last Sunday I was at the mall and walking outside from the bank to the coffee shop. I was walking on the edge of the car park and saw a car heading for me...not fast, BUT the driver was looking down at his passenger seat.

I decided to just step to the left to make sure I was out of his way completely and stepped onto a small stone I didn't see and ended up wrenching my knee. Why does one always hurt what's already hurt??? It was so painful and all I could do was hobble to the coffee shop where I had to meet a client and try to pretend all was well.

When the client left, I crawled to my car and went home to take some anti-inflammatory tablets in the hopes to help my knee feel better. I was off boot camp the entire week and gradually my knee started feeling better.

This Sunday my knee felt worlds better and I decided to actually go to boot camp this morning...cardio morning....and just do what I could. BAD MOVE.

Now I'm back to being in agony again.

I should have just rested the knee completely.
This picture really says how I feel right now.

Sadly I am now on anti-inflammatory tablets PLUS pain killers. At least my eating is on track, good food choices are as smart a choice as going to boot camp was a totally dumb choice. I missed my exercise routine so badly, and now I've just compromised my exercise. *shaking my head at myself*

I set out to lose 20kgs from March 13 to March 14. I have already lost 20kgs and still have 4 months left, so I'm going to move my goal to try and lose another 10kgs between now and March 14 which will end my 1 year since I restarted.

This is the first year I have managed to keep my weight off that I lost. Seems Herbalife is all its said to be. It feeds the brain, nerves, cells..in fact everything. So this time I am able to be "mature" about not running for emotional cover when I receive compliments from my friends husbands. I'm so happy about that.

Otherwise, not much to report. Things are ticking over nicely and this year is almost done.

I started a new little business selling Herbalife products and so far so good. There are people who are keen on taking care of themselves using the easy method which is shaking and not having to decide all the time what to put into each shake. Its all done for you. Just grab a shake, drink it down and go....simple.
It's been the answer for me and the system that is working well for me.

So that's it. Just keep on keeping on and keep trying and never giving up.
Bottom line, if you keep going you have to reach your goal. It might take slower than some, but that doesn't matter. Each one works at their own pace as long as their pace is not one of constant compromise with unhealthy foods, sugars, pastries etc.

So looking forward to losing the next 10kgs by March 14.

I hope your knee heals quickly and you can get back to boot camp. Take it slow. Since your trainer knows how the muscles and tendons work, maybe he can change a few things around for you to be able to still do the boot camp without re-injuring the knee.

On the show "The Biggest Loser" a few years ago, they had a guy that was in a wheelchair so cardio was something he couldn't do like everyone else. (running on the treadmill, etc) so the trainer started boxing with him. His heart rate would go up and he saw results every week!

Great job on eating healthy!

BTW...you might want to use an ace bandage to give your need some stabilization and support.

So sorry about your injury. Knees are so vulnerable I find. I am glad it was not worse though. People not paying attention are a scourge. I think you are on the right track making another 10 kg. loss a goal till March. You will be positively svelte by then. Feel better soon!!

Sorry for your 'accident'. Glad you saw it coming and did not get hurt even worse. Amazing how hazardous some drivers are. Hope you feel better soon

Thats even more stupid of me Asta, because Ricco told me more than once to be careful. I just felt fine, didn't think there would be latent pain. Ah well.....now I have to slow down, like it or not.

So sorry you hurt yourself (very glad you didn't get run over!). How come your trainer guy didn't advise you about the knee issue? Well, it's done now. Rest and recuperation are on your docket for the immediate future till that knee is healed. Then you might be wise to giv it some extra support when you DO resume your workouts. Hope you mend fast...and will be careful. emoticon
