Today is off to a great start. This morning, instead of my regular routine - quick trip to McDonalds for eggs and coffee - I made a change.
Half a cup of coffee at home. Filled up my water bottle (1L) and it's almost empty already. And an asian pear. I was getting really hungry and needed to eat something right away. It was just enough to take the edge off.
The plan now is to make some scrambled egg whites with extra veggies. Finish my water bottle, fill it up, and maybe finish it again before lunch.
If I want a coffee, I'm okay to have some.
I'm feeling great about this mornings choices. Much better than most mornings. And I'm over 50% to meeting my goals for today.
This week has been a good one for meeting the goals I've put out there. Including not letting everything else I "should" be doing overwhelm me. I know how this works for me. Eventually it'll all click, and I'll want to do more and more to reach my goals. So far so good. I'm not getting down on myself for things I feel I should be doing. Instead, I'm focusing on baby steps.
As I increase my water and decrease the coffee, etc, my body will flush out some of these toxins that are keeping me feeling trapped. I never have any energy. I'm constantly fighting illness lately. I'm not sleeping right. It's no wonder I can't do it all right now.
But I can increase my water. That will help flush my system out.
Eating more freggies will help me slowly re-program my eating habits. I will feel stronger - better nutrition. And I won't feel as hungry and tempted to quickly grab the "junk food" while on the run. Water helps with this one too.
As my energy level increases, I'll be ready to start moving again. I have races I'm already registered for, so I want to get my training back on track. In all honesty, I'm excited to get training again. But I know I need my body to be ready for it.
So all of my foundation work is not wasted. In fact, it's setting me up to have more success than I've had in a long time.
I am on a big journey, despite how small the steps feel today. I can do this. All I have to do is stay focused on what I need to do TODAY!
