Small Stone of the Week - Dec 1-7

Sunday, December 01, 2013

Week one is behind me. It was a short week, but it was 80% successful.

I know where I fell short, so the plan is to keep focusing on those shortcomings, but also to keep moving forward.

My choices for adding things to focus on for this week could include fitness or nutrition. I have a lot of work to do in both.

I decided yesterday. I'm going to focus on the one that has been harder for me for a long time. Yes, in the short term, fitness looks harder to me. But realistically, it's nutrition that is defeating me for the past couple of years. I am able to get my training in when I put my mind to it. But I struggle with nutrition.

So this weeks baby step will be a nutrition one.

My goals this week:
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
- Track every bite of food (1 week success done)
- Eat at least 3 servings of freggies every day!

I want to build up to at least 5, but I'm starting smaller.

Once again, not letting everything else I "should" be doing overwhelm me is another in the background goal. For this one, I WILL NOT let myself slack on these goals above because I did something healthy for myself not listed here. NO WAY.

My focus is on doing these things. It doesn't matter so much what I eat, as long as I track it. With the exception of needing 3 servings of freggies a day that is.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water. If I want a coffee, fine. As long as I get all my water in.

Went for a run? Good for you. It doesn't mean you don't need to track, or you don't need your freggies, or your water. It's that simple.

Your goals are looking good and I like your plan of building slowly on success. I really think that this is answer to reaching goals in the long run. Forget about how much you have to do to get to your goals, concentrate on what you need to do NOW to get there.

Have a good week with lots of water and freggies!

I agree with you! Exercise doesn't mean you can skip tracking. Even when I eat the same foods, or think that I have, I will notice that it may be slightly higher when I sit down to track. Planning really helps me although lately I have been tracking as I go and before supper sit down and see how many calories I can have.
