Will it really be any different this time?

Sunday, December 01, 2013

Lately I've been wanting to get a NutriBullet. I have these grand plans in my head about how I would make a smoothie for breakfast every day like my co-worker does. I imagine myself consuming greens and berries and being oh-so-healthy...

But then I remember the Magic Bullet sitting, unused in my cupboard. I've made some very yummy smoothies in my time, but it's always been a passing fancy.

What would make this time any different?

I understand, since I'm the same way! But I did break down and get a Nutri Bullet a few months ago after watching one of those documentaries about the benefits of juicing (Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead or one of those.) For a few weeks, I was doing it every day, and my daughter was drinking spinach, berries, etc. and we'd also do natural PB and frozen banana (YUM) or even pumpkin smoothies. I eventually started making other things for breakfast, but keeping it out on the counter prompts me to use it more often. Yesterday I made frozen banana, natural PB, and light yogurt (with ice and vanilla and a splash of milk) and it was awesome.
So my feeling is if you get it, don't put it in the cabinet. Your counter may look messy, but it's worth it because you will use it more!

    Hi, Kelly,

I do make a smoothie every morning with a blender.

I think that the main temptation for me not to do it is the 3-5 minutes it takes me every day to make it (get out blender, assemble blender, grab ingredients from fridge & freezer, add ice cubes, blend, dump & shake into cup, rinse immediately so it doesn't dry onto the blender cup.)

The end result is delicious (spinach, yummy protein powder, blueberries, almond milk, ice, & sometimes another fruit), it's just the time element that's the slight annoyance.

    Hope that helps.
