Don't know enough to venture an opinion other than I would check with your Dr.

emoticon I was advised to take this supplement over a decade ago, due to a heart problem. It is a necessary nutrient to strengthen muscles, and works on the heart. Cardiologists recommend it. It is also recommended by the medical profession if you are on a statin drug (Lipitor, Crestor) to lower BP. Some people finds it makes them hyper. (adjust to a lower dose). Also, you should ask at a Health Food Store which brand to take, as some are more easily assimilated by the body...some are of little value.

Hope this helps, Blessings, Joanie emoticon

I took it for a while to humor my Guy. He heard great things about it from some TV salesman. I noticed NO difference in my life. On the other hand, I doubt I'm particularly deficient in CoQ10. I'm not taking any medications that deplete it and I don't have any medical conditions. It's my understanding that the supplements aren't necessarily the solution, even if you do have a deficiency. My diet is probably rich enough in it as it is.

No I haven't heard of this, but like others have suggested consult with your doctor first.

I have taken it for a short period prior to tracking each nutrient in my regular diet...It was recommended as a good supplement for the heart...but I would check with your doctor especially if you are taking any other medication....

Also I would watch grapefruit intake...I have read that it cancels out the effectiveness of many medications.

Keep on sparkin,

When my new Cardiologist saw this on the list of supplements I take he smiled and said that was a good thing. "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" Balch is my reference for items like this.

I take it and my massage therapist recommended it for anyone taking statins as statins deplete it in your body. I take Lipitor.

I have heard about it, talked to my doctor about it, and he does not recommend it for me.

I haven't taken it - and I hadn't even heard of it before last week, when my cardiologist recommended that I should take it for muscle cramps that could be caused by Crestor - the statin she has prescribed for me.

I have never suffered from muscle cramps from statins before though, so I don't think I will need to take it.
