This past week in Review

Today is the last day of the week for me.

My goals for this past week were:

Track every bite of food
I did this one. Every day. There was one day I debated not finishing my day, but stuck with it. I am feeling very good about this goal.

Drink more water - at least 8 glasses a day
I did drink more water. I drank water every day. That in itself was a success for me.
But I did not get my 8 glasses every day.
I need to stay focused on this one. I need to keep my full water bottle with me ALL THE TIME. Seriously. It's that simple for me. Today I reached my 8 glasses because my bottle is right beside me.

So it's time to decide on my goals for next week.

As these two goals have just started, they are continuing to be key goals next week also. For me it takes 3 weeks of meeting the goal every day to become a habit. I don't ignore it after that, but I no longer have to keep in right in my face as a goal to focus on all the time.

But since I've done so well this week - I know I didn't 100% meet my second goal, but I'll say I 80% met it - I will add one more goal to focus on this next week. I already have an idea what it is, but I'm not going to say until I Put it down in black and white in tomorrows blog.

Hope y'all had a good week. Hope you're happy with your progress. If not, only you can change that. Are you setting goals that are just too high? Baby steps will get you there - usually faster than trying to leap over the entire mountain all at once.

Let me known what small steps you are going to focus on for next week. I'm always looking for suggestions to use.

    I've been working on water too, somehow I fell off on that for a while. I've done better there, I take 2 - 32oz bottles to work with me everyday and they are empty when I come home. Days off are a little harder though, I tend to grab for the Diet Coke instead of the water bottle.

    This week is about getting in some exercise even if it's only 10 minutes a day. I also need to track my food. I think this week I'm going to say 4 days of tracking food and work up to every day.

    You are right about taking small steps to make a big change! That way of thinking has definitely helped me the most. This week I really need to work on drinking more water. I don't drink a lot of other stuff, but I noticed lately that I haven't been getting as much. Mostly because of the colder weather I think I am not as thirsty so I need to just make myself drink a tall glass of water with each meal and snack and I will be good to go with that.
    As far as new goals, I want to do a workout dvd 3 days a week in addition to my daily walks. Good luck this week with your new goals and great work sticking to your current goals! emoticon
