I got out on snow shoes for the first time this Winter this afternoon. Normally I would go out with my brother and we would push each other to go a little faster, but he is out of town with his daughter this weekend, so I went by myself. There is something so peaceful and serene about moving through the untouched snow, listening to the birds, and identifying various animal tracks. There is a feeling of being somewhere sacred. I only stayed out for about an hour, but I worked up quite a sweat (should have shed a layer before I set out), and spent some time talking to God.
Had lunch with mom and dad before going snow shoeing. We had sirloin, baked potatoes, green beans, beets, peppers with cream cheese and sauteed mushrooms and onions. We also made an apple crisp which we ate after I got back from snow shoeing. Then mom and I sorted out some more clothes from upstairs. Dad is making progress at clearing out the sewing room, while I have gotten stalled on cleaning mom's old bedroom. We will get it to a point where it is possible to do the necessary renovations, but it might take a while longer than planned.
