Sleep and Bad Dreams
Saturday, November 30, 2013
I can go through periods where I have really, really scary dreams every single night. It's not a regular thing but it comes in waves.
Two nights ago I had a bad dream. I can't quite remember what it was about, but I remember waking up and breathing hard. When I woke up to get my day started, the back of my knee was hurting.
How does a fit, 30-something injure herself in the middle of the night? Could it be from the bad dream?
I spent most of the day on the couch (this long weekend, I created a "nest") and noticed that I occasionally stretch out while laying down by putting the majority of my body weight on my heels and lifting my bum. It hurt my sore back-of-knee and I thought, "Maybe that's how I injured my leg!"
But then I had another bad dream last night. I woke up occasionally during the night and noticed that I was tensing my muscles. Seriously, it felt like I was tensing ALL of the muscles in my body. I suppose that too could strain something so that there is pain in the back of my leg.
Another day of skipping the gym in favor of rest. I don't want to take a small injury and make it worse. I'm bummed, because I love my Saturday morning Zumba!
Tonight I plan on taking some Zzz Quil so that I sleep more peacefully.
Here's my sweet little nest on the couch!
