Black Friday Adventures

Friday, November 29, 2013

I have spent a number of Black Fridays shopping with my Mother or with friends. We always have a really good time getting deals, and having fun. Today was a different kind of day. My husband works at LL Bean, and had to be at the store at 5 am. I decided to get up and travel into Concord for some retail therapy of my own.
I found the stores very quiet. I got a few really good deals, and bought some things that were needed in the home. Now it is almost 2 pm, and I am tired. Shopping burns a lot of calories!

I refuse to get out there with all those crazy ya~hoos. FL people are especially of the CRAZY genes! Some people started CAMPING emoticon outside a Best Buy store an entire week BEFORE the sales started....who does that? Not me for sure, for sure!

I'm glad the stores were quiet...it was a zoo from what I saw on television...me I prefer to shop online in the comfort of my jamies~ emoticon

I'm glad you were able to save some $$$ and didn't have to deal with crowds. I think that opening the stores on Thanksgiving spreads out roughly the same number of shoppers over a longer period of time. I also suspect that you hit the sweet spot between the fanatics who actually shopped Thanksgiving evening and those who wanted to do the traditional Black Friday thing, but didn't feel as pressed to arrive early for obvious reasons. Well timed! I hope your husband survived his shift -- LL Bean's was probably packed.

I stayed away from stores today. Not even a look at an online store...

I gather you didn't venture out to Steeplegate to shop there. I can imagine downtown Concord being a reasonable place to shop, even on Black Friday.

emoticon I have 2 things to comment on from your blog...
I agree that shopping is good exercise... emoticon ,
and you were blessed to have a quiet shopping trip. We heard on TV how one man was SHOT at when trying to buy a TV set...and there were fist fights and more shown on TV...truly shocking! emoticon
