What we have been practicing all year bears fruit at the holidays.

Even if we have not been 'perfect' at our weight loss through the year, we still have been setting goals and building awareness. Now is when our good habits will get us through the holiday season.

I have been practicing these goals during the weeks of 2013:

-drinking water often emoticon

-putting my fork down between bites emoticon

-chewing to liquid emoticon

-eating at the table emoticon

-veggies, veggies, veggies emoticon

-fruit tastes awsome emoticon

-vegetables can be delicious emoticon

-green smoothies are great for breakfast emoticon

-planning the evening ahead helps tremendously emoticon

-loose waists on my pants is a great feeling and less stressful thatn weighing myself too often emoticon

-sparkfriends have lots and lots of ideas about staying healthy emoticon

-lots and lots more! emoticon emoticon emoticon

So now, during these weeks of family get togethers emoticon and shopping marathons emoticon emoticon and making lists emoticon and a myriad of expectations emoticon I hope I can remember the skills to keep myself from being over tired and anxious.

    And I know you put down drinking water more often, but drinking water is SOOO important. I read the other day that when a person is dehydrated, the thirst mechanism shuts down and one won't even feel thirsty! But the crabbiness, short-temperedness all that is related to dehydration. Also, being winter time, the heaters are on, the cold saps fluid from our bodies and it is SOO easy to get dehydrated even if we think we just drank some water "a few minutes ago", because the dryness just pulls it out. I can tell in myself as well because I'll be more constipated than usual, even if I have watched diet and had more fruits and veggies etc. Drinking water really does help in that situation...

It's funny how we pick up on others stress and become stressed, even though I don't observe Christmas... there's still that "BUY BUY BUY BUY" stuff going on in my emails, every website, my newspaper, the TV etc at my mom's house (I don't watch tv at home...the computer is my time hog!).
