Getting Better Slowly

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Last week I was injured by a collapsing ladder at the pool. It has taken a whole week and plenty of rest for me to start to feel better. The good news is that I only have soft tissue damage - but the bruising is severe. The only danger now is developing a blood clot and a lot of pain. We took lots of pictures of my legs just in case. I have had two doctors look at my knees and a whole series of x-rays to check my knee replacements and surrounding bone for damage. I was so lucky that they found no permanent damage!

My neurologist even noticed the bruises when I saw her for an appointment this week. She was the one who cautioned me about blood clots. That did give me a bit of anxiety. She made me promise to be extra careful in the coming weeks. I think that she is especially sensitive to issues of this nature due to her specialty. She is also worried about the condition of my spine and she wrote an order for me to get a second opinion. It feels great to have a doctor in my corner for a change. Constantly fighting so hard for help gets very tiring!

Hoping you get just what you need. Wow, that was a terrible occurrence. We go to the Y to get healthy and then -- well, things happen, but how unfortunate!
