Gratitude Attitude Day - T'is the Season!

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

I was scheduled to have a laparoscopic cholecystectomy this morning ( as I understand it, 4 people armed with sterile soda straws were going to remove my gall bladder and then send me on home a couple of hours later.)

We had freezing rain and light snow last night - the kind of weather that makes a New Englander blow coffee out their nose if you ask whether school is going to be called off. But I live on a mountain in Tennessee and freezing rain turns the north-facing lane up to my mailbox into an ice-hill worthy of a 40's cartoon. LSS - My surgery was re-scheduled for next Wednesday. As I imagine having a gall bladder event while holding onto the car door roadside on the winding black-ice mountain highway that leads down to the hospital in the valley I see
the wisdom of that decision.

This may be a time for me to hunker down physically for a few more days, but the gratitude for my attitude is all around, just waiting for me to express it. care to join me?

Happy Thanksgiving! Tis a Gift To Be Simple.

I am glad that you had a "gall-bladder day" (to echo what we used to call 'snow day') and that all goes well when the day rolls around.

A wise decision ! I hope eventually you are all healed and healthy. I relate because I am suffering some symptoms which we are still investigating.

emoticon is no fun!

I stopped by to congratulate you on being lighter by one gallbladder, & to wish you a quick recovery and a lovely holiday. But your local weather has made most of that premature! The lovely holiday part still applies, though - happy hunkering, and take good care!

I think that's a really wise choice--nothing says pain like being post-op and trying to hold on in the car during a slide. Yikes. Probably lets the surgical team off the hook too, so actually it's pretty altruistic;-). I hope you take care during the interim and are not too uncomfortable. And Happy Thanksgiving to you! P.S. Thanks for the snicker about the soda straws, lol.

I have driven through TN Ice Storms on my way down to SC - very scary and I am used to snowy weather . Perhaps its good measure that you are spared today. However I do know that you are uncomfortable , which stinks :( .

Wishing you and your Loved one all the Blessing of the Holiday !
