~ Quick update... ~

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

... Just wanted to check in and let you know that all is well, I just haven't really had time to post much.

Still tweaking the nutritional side of things, this is going to take time to get the balance that I want.

I wanted to make a comment regarding my previous blog and add that although I didn't list a lot of veggies in my meal suggestions, I actually copied the list from somewhere, I wanted to clarify that I eat loads of veggies because I try to get most of carbs from veggies. For breakfast, I love scrambled eggs with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes... I also add zucchini, green peppers & mushrooms.

RE: FRUIT: Being carb sensitive, I have to watch my fruit intake, but I try to eat at least 1 or 2 servings fruit, mainly blueberries/strawberries & apples at least once a day at breakfast
& maybe a 2nd serving for a snack during the day. I also make sure that I eat it with protein. If I do a high intensity workout I might add more fruit as well and make a smoothie with whey protein/frozen strawberries! emoticon

- I am concentrating on getting enough protein to maintain/build muscle, as my Sparkfriend, MARVELOUS50 aka Charlene, and former figure competitor recommended. Building the other macros around my protein intake.

- I am also carb & calorie cycling... continually mixing it up so that my body will hopefully not hit a plateau.

... to be continued... "Enjoy your day!"

Good for you not eliminating the fruits and veggies like most low carb diets do!! Blueberries are one of the best antioxidants out there (and my favorite)! But please remember to take calcium supplements as too much protein can start leaching calcium from your bones.
Keep up the great work!
Hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving!

My fruits are important too, I love tomatoes, pepper, berries and even an occasional apple as well.
I am not into body building, but just health building and make sure I as well get in protein. Some of them are seeds like; hemp, flax and chia.
You got to love that plants, as well have proteins and they all add up fast when combined with animal proteins and yes fish is an animal too. LOL
I love my dairy and to find that health resource for it is so good. I have been making my own yogurt and fermented veggies too.
Truly we are our own best resource when it comes to having a health plan.
My best to you Dee and remember dear to enjoy the Holidays with smart choices, because we do have the choice to create a healthier food option and the choice to say "no, thank you."
I know I can get through these holidays, better, healthier and happier.
Hugs,
Erin
