My Spark Punishment...

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

It is no secret that I just love Spark People. I love my Spark friends, I love the tools, I love the motivation, I love it all! I also enjoy blogging, that's probably why I have an excessive amount of them. emoticon I have been super off track lately, I have been honest and accountable about it... I have a had a reality check, a long hard talk to myself, I've done it all. I am aware that I'm in "all talk and no action mode"... but I just keep doing it.

So I thought to myself today I need some sort of punishment or consequence to being off track! Feeling my pants get a little tight should be punishment enough, but apparently it wasn't. So I decided that I needed a time out from Spark.

Now before you think you are getting rid of me, let me explain. My Spark time out is in reference to being able to blog. I really do enjoy it, and I've decided that I can not blog til I am back on track! To make sure that I am fully on track and not just having one good day, I need to have 5 days in my calorie range, tracking and measuring all food, exercising and getting in all my water. More importantly it must be 5 days in a row, not total. So with each slip up I will have to start over. The way I've been going I might not be able to blog for a month. But it was the only thing I could think of as a punishment.

I would never give up Spark in it's entirety because me getting back on track relies heavily on Spark. I need the nutrition and fitness trackers, and I need to be able to read other Spark Friends blogs and progress because that is where I get so much motivation! All of you continue to inspire me and remind me what is important! So there you have it... what could be my last blog of 2013 IF I don't get my act together. I wish you all nothing but continued success and a very happy holiday season! To all my US Spark Friends, I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving! emoticon emoticon emoticon

While I don't condone not reading your blogs, I understand why you are doing it. I endorse you doing whatever is going to get you back to a place of accomplishment and glory. You are strong and fully capable.

Hi Steph-Knee, haven't heard from you since 27 November.
Hope you are finding the strenght and motivation to reach your goal of 5 good days in a row, as I am missing your blogs!
And if not, just let us know how you are doing, perhaps we can help motivate you emoticon emoticon emoticon

Your blogs are motivating too! I've not been tracking well either and eating outside limits. Now that I'm over the exercise hurdle, I'll tackle the tracking. There must be something behind that too, there always is. It took me a while to figure out why I'm not exercising. The answer was pretty simple. I hope it will be for my food intake too!

Awww - but you will be punishing US (your loving supporters!) too! But if that is what it takes to get you back on track I guess we can suck it up!! Only do it QUICK - cause we'll miss you!! Hugs, Marilyn

Like some of the other posters, I have my questions on whether giving up one of your support measures is the best thing. We do what it takes, but I'm thinking a reward system might be more effective than punishment? But you'll be back to blog about it and let us know! I'll miss your posts.

That seems like a pretty severe punishment for yourself.
You will be missed and I hope you are back soon.

    Hi Steph,

Denying yourself one of the best things that can get you back on track I would have thought a bit risky.

If you ever want to email me personally please feel free to do so - also please do not forget what you have achieved already and if you are gaining do your best to stabilise everything before any attempt is made to loose.

You know where I am if I can ever be of help.

Cheers

Trev

You might want to put a end date on your resolution or change your goal if you go too long without meeting it. No use punishing yourself in silence when we are part of your support system. For example, if after a month you have not had five days in a row you do a blog and tell us about your highs and lows and that you are going to attempt 3 days in a row.
Anyway, I wish you well in your endeavours. Remember progress not perfection:)

Well girlfriend you need to get yourself on track starting Friday. Enjoy Thanksgiving. In the mean time I will be missing your blogs. I am trying to write more. Not much of a writer myself, but I will try so I can keep you motivated like you have done for me.
Hugs

I will definitely miss your blogs. I find that I get in a groove for a while and suddenly whatever works no longer does, then I need to try something else for a while. Switching from blogging to just tracking and looking for inspiration on the site might be the very thing you need. I find pre-tracking works well for me to get back on track, as the day goes on I can switch things out but that way, I know what cals I have to work with. I agree with your staying away from the scale since it was causing you anxiety which is not great for weight loss. There are so many factors out of your control that affect the scale. You can control what you eat, drink, and how much you exercise. Good luck. Hope you are back to blogging before you know it and also back to BLC when the time is right for you.

Awwww, my lil' Spark Daughter. Sorry you've fallen off track. Please enjoy the day tomorrow though. Indulge a little. Don't punish yourself until after Thanksgiving. We all work hard here and deserve to have a nice meal. Start your 5 days on Friday. You heard your mother, run along now, and have a good day!

I was feeling much the same as you and I took a day off of Spark, which turned into a couple of days off of Spark, I was just doing too much socializing and not enough caring for myself. I hope you can find your way soon and get back to blogging.

I will not try to talk you out of your designated action plan to get back on track. WE all have to do what we have to do to make things work for us.

The only thing I would say is this . . . maybe blogging is exactly what you need to do to get back on track! At least for me, it helps maintain accountability. Again, just sayin', because we all have to do what we think is best for ourselves for sure!

Happy Thanksgiving sweetie. Will miss you.

I know you can do it, hope to hear from you soon!
