HOW TO SUCEED AT EATING/ NOT OVER EATING, SERIES # 2

The holidays are coming. How many of us dread it.
We may feel anxious about eating in public?
Or just losing control, and eating too much food.
We do not know if we are strong enough to fight our bad eating habits.
Or where we are going may not have truly healthy foods to snack on or eat.
Here is some food for thought!
Did you plan to succeed?
If not, you obviously planned to fail.
Here are some light meals to eat before you go out to the smorgasbord.
Oh! I meant Thanksgiving! But you know what I am getting at.
Toast ( whole grain) with peanut butter, fruit, and low fat milk. This is a lite, healthy breakfast.
You can have an egg white omelet filled with vegetables & low fat cheese for breakfast.
Or home made vegetable soup without noodles, for lunch to fill up on.
That way you'll fill up without many calories.
If you can, prepare dishes that are healthy to take with you.
Enough for others, or just yourself.
Don't go an extremely long time without food, your blood sugar falls.
Can you feel your clock, without it being the last resort in your alarm system?
Telling you it's too late, you're crashing. Your blood sugar is falling.
Fill up on water, before, and in between meals. It will keep you full.
Graze on fruits, vegetables, and plain protein if possible.
Try to have your plate filled up with 1/4 protein, 1/4 starches/ and 1/2 vegetables.
That's what Weight Watcher's suggests.
If you don't eat your starches, you can use dessert as a substitute., for only today.
Graze if necessary. A small proportion is ok.
Don't sit next to any dishes that are layed out,
Because you will want to constantly snack.
Use smaller plates, to control yourself.
A hand full of nuts, is all one needs.
It's satisfying & can hold you over.
Snacking on too salty of foods seem to make me retain water weight.
So, I avoid thinking olives, and pickles are not going to affect my weight.
Try to enjoy the holidays! Or meals out!
Remember it's not about the food, but about good company.
If you really want something, go for it!
Don't feel guilty about one day of your life, forgive yourself.
One piece of cake isn't going to destroy you.
Drink milk with it, it blocks the fat.
And start your diet or life style again tomorrow.
Don't start over by excluding any of your foods.
Other wise you will cycle into binging again.
