Chaos reigns!

Monday, November 25, 2013

Life has been pretty chaotic since I got home from holiday 6 weeks ago. Will is still in hospital, now detained under a section 3 - which means he is there for treatment. He is accepting antipsychotics, but still doesn't seem to have any insight into his behaviour over the last months. Must call the socal worker tomorrow and see what is being planned for his rehab. He wants to come home for Christmas so will be pretty upset if they don't allow him to. On the other hand, I am rather apprehensive about the possibility as we both find him rather difficult to cope with when he is either manic or very depressed.

DH now has a date for his knee surgery on 5th December which is fast approaching. I helped him write a letter to the surgeons to express his concern at delays. He has fallen several times when out and we are scared he will break a hip or arm or something which would only complicate an already bad situation. Within a week of that letter we had a call offering him a provisional date of 16th December and then it was brought forward again to 5th and today he had his pre-assessment tests done, so unless there is no bed available on the day it should be going ahead as planned. We are both a bit apprehensive but hopefully it will all go well and he will be feeling the benefit by the New Year.

It is also that nasty time of the year when I have to prepare my books for the tax return, so I am having to work all hours to get them sorted out. My new years resolution for next January is definitely to timetable in time each week to catch up for the week so I don't have to spend weeks at the end of the year sorting out the chaos.

I hope that things have settled down by now. So glad to hear your son is accepting treatment. Hope DH's surgery goes well and all is calm for Christmas. I feel your tax preparation pain. I hate the process and I especially hate the end result. I usually have to pay!

Blessings to you dear friend! You do have a lot on your plate right now. I'm sending you lots of love and light and praying for a safe and healing surgery for your DH.

I live in total chaos also...not knowing if we are going to have a roof over our heads tomorrow...I just take it a day at a time...sometimes a minute at a time within that day.

Hugs, hugs, and MORE hugs! emoticon

Best of luck to all of you. I hope your DH will have a speedy recovery and will be able to walk comfortably again. Take care of yourself, it's hard when you're the caregiver but also essential. emoticon
