Bonus blog for Radiant Crimsons -Portion Control on Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Our BSG challenge for Week 3 is: Do you plan to control your portions on Thanksgiving? If so, how? If not, why?

Well, this year we are having a change in our previous Thanksgivings, which was having the holiday at our house for the last 25 years. But, since we sold our house and have been living in our RV, it is too small for a big gathering. So, for the first time we are eating dinner at my sister's house, and then we are leaving for our new home in Florida the next day. My sister is making the turkey for the first time, as well as the pies she has always made, and my parents and Dave and I will be making/bringing the side dishes. I am making two veggie side dishes. I do not intent to overeat, since I have a sensitive stomach, and I don't want to have bathroom issues the next morning when we will be on the road. I will have a little of everything and will not go for seconds, plus we do not plan on taking any leftovers with us.

So, I think it will be a good day, and I am looking forward to being with my family one last time before we head south.

I wish everyone on SparkPeople a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I eat like you do for holidays - sensibly - I use serving sizes and often eat less than a serving. don't take seconds. And I fix everything as healthy as I can.

I always avoid taking home leftovers, too. The last thing I need here is extra food emoticon

Have an emoticon holiday!
