Why did you choose to participate in this challenge? At the end of this week, what do you hope to accomplish? What do you want to feel like? What do you want to learn? What would have to happen for you to feel successful? What would it look like if you participated in the challenge all the way through? How do you think it would help you? How are you going to stay accountable? What has happened over the course of the holidays in the past? What makes this time different? How are you going to set yourself up for success?
The reason that I decided to participate in this challenge is because I tend to slip a lot over the holiday season. I donít even tend to think about it I just let myself have the mindset that it doesnít even matter about weight during the holidays because it only comes around once a year. However, over a month full of holiday celebrating can definitely do damage to our weight loss endeavors whether we want it to or not. I need to change my holiday mind set into realizing that it isnít okay to eat whatever I want just because itís the holidays. I need to focus on moderation and listening to my body. When itís full I need to stop eating, and when Iím hungry I should eat. I need to train my body to be smart during the holidays. My main goal for this challenge is to maintain my weight. Over the last four weeks of being at school I have lost 3 pounds. It isnít the 8 that I had been hoping for but after being sick and eating very unhealthy and not being able to work out during that time I will definitely take that three pound weight loss! I would like to at least maintain my current weight of 196lbs. I would also like to journal consistently again throughout the week, and do some working out as well! I donít want the holidays to put me back over the 200s again! I want to learn how to deal with the holidays in a way that allows me to eat the foods that I want to but learn that moderation is the keyÖIíve never been good with moderation, hence the weight! To feel successful with the challenge I will either lose or maintain my weight not only over the course of this week, but over the course of the entire holiday season. If I participate with this challenge all the way through I will hopefully learn a lot, and maintain my weight! I think it will help me learn how to handle my new healthy lifestyle even when special occasions happen. I am going to stay accountable by posting on the Vitality Challenge Facebook page, and by blogging as I go. In past holidays I havenít cared what I eat, and I would eat everything and anything I wanted to with no form of moderation! There was definitely weight gain over the holiday seasons in the past! This time is different because I am trying to focus on me, I will focus on bettering myself instead of binge eating for the entire holiday season! I am going to set myself up for success by being active on the Facebook page, on spark people, and by doing my daily journaling and affirmations! Not to mention commenting on other peopleís Facebook vitality posts!
