Completed 6 weeks of the Challenge. So far, so good. I've managed to lose weight every week, even though some weeks it hasn't been much.
I'll tell you though, last week's Living The Good Life (which was weighing and measuring all our food) about killed me. I'm used to portioning out my breakfast and lunch every day... but at dinnertime I was used to just going by the "My Plate" and eyeballing stuff. It was a real pain in the butt to weigh and measure, while I was trying to get that food slapped out on the plates, so we could eat.
I think-- for me anyway-- fixing the plates in the kitchen and then carrying them to the table... and never putting full platters and bowls of food on the table, for easy access to seconds... has really helped.
This week's LTGL is sodium; not so hard for me, since I've been tracking my sodium for a while and know the types of things to avoid. It'll get tougher toward the end of the week, when all my company is here and the eating goes a little haywire.
Also this week, we're doing a virtual 5K. I've been playing around on mapmyrun, to come up with a 5K in our neighborhood. Of course, I'm not planning to run. I'll walk it. Yesterday I did "the short block" (about 3/4 mile) 4 times, plus a little at the end to make 5K. Today it is very cold (for Tennessee anyway) and windy. I bundled up pretty good, but could've used a scarf or something to cover my nose. Walked a different route; did about 2 1/4 miles and called it quits. I'll get some more exercise minutes, inside where it's warm. After all it would be a shame not to enjoy all this heat we're paying for.
One of the best things (for me) about the Challenge, is that it's gotten me into the habit of exercising every day. I hate to exercise. So anything that gives me the extra push I need, to rise up and get going, is a very good thing.
