The 5 Rules of The Leptin Diet

Saturday, November 23, 2013

Leptin is a fat burning hormone, the master hormone according to Byron Richards, a Leptin expert. When you eat is just as important as what you eat according to Byron. This is most interesting and fascinating subject to me. While I'm waiting for Byron's book to arrive, I've watched the video and want to start incorporating the principals of the Leptin diet right away.

The 5 rules are:

1) Never eat after dinner. Allow 3 hrs before going to bed and at least 12 hrs before breakfast.

2) 3 Meals a day with 5-6 hours in between. Do not snack! Watch the video for explanations. It'll blow your mind with the wrong advice given by the 'experts' on snacking.

3) No large meal

4) Eat high protein breakfast.

5) Reduce carbohydrates.

The video is 10 minutes long, but if you've never heard of Leptin before, this is well worth it. It's not only what you eat, it's WHEN you eat. Enjoy:

Thank you so much for this blog! I downloaded it to my Kindle and read it on the trip to and from Texas (from Georgia - lots of reading time!) It makes SO much sense to me!! I've also ordered the 'hard copy' book (its easier to flip around in a book than on the kindle) and definitely plan on trying this method of eating!! I am at my goal weight but still have more belly fat than I like - plus the health benefits he describes sound like just what I need!!

Have you had time to read the book (I know Thanksgiving week is a busy time.) I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

It does make a lot of sense -- but I sure would miss those snacks!! So far the only thing I'm doing right is I eat protein for breakfast.

I'm going to go back to your blog and look at the other video's by the same author. It would be quite a change, but if it proves successful, why not give it a shot. I can still have the protein smoothie but will have to change a few other things. Thanks for the tip. I went to your page to see how much you weight -- but that little piece of info seemed to be missing! lol

Check Jack Kruse's blog for info on leptin, too. He can get a bit extreme on some topics, but he's got good science behind him. Worth a look.

Those are pretty much the same suggestions given in another book I just read, 'Potatoes not Prozac'. I'll check this out - sounds interesting!

I just listened to the video and ordered the book for my Kindle. Very interesting!!

Thanks for sharing. Without knowing it, I basically eat like this and have now for almost a year and haven't had any trouble maintaining my weight loss.
Thanks for sharing.
