Shrinking world

Saturday, November 23, 2013

It's a cool morning out there. Took Dalhouise for his morning walk - I am dressed in many layers and Dalhouise has his coat on. He does not like his coat - as soon as I picked it up he went and hid, but changed his mind once I repeated the words lets go for a walk....

The pond is shrinking.. You can not really tell from the pictures - but ice is spreading over the top.. I looked for the ducks in their normal spot but it was iced over - I think to my self they are probably near the bridge where there is flowing water - it can not freeze.. I was so right..

Then once I left the pond area I seen this Bird -- I think it is a Western Meadowlark.
Can anyone of you confirm this or tell me what it is?

    Have you looked here? http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/

I've had pretty good luck identifying birds from this site, and it's just fun to look at too!

This is the link to the western meadowlark ID page, it looks like you could be right, maybe you can tell from the description?
