My goal this holiday season is to Maintain! That's all I want to do. So I am involved in a challenge with my Team 300 lbs Plus and one of the challenges was to read an article and pick out three tips that you could promise yourself that you could do! Well doing Spark Coach today Spark Guy was talking about setting your future goals on paper. I am just not ready to map out my goals for the next 5 or 10 yrs but I am most certainly willing to map out the next two months for this challenge.
Promises I made to myself!
1. Track my food daily. This is something I normally do. I will be careful when weighing and measuring my food this Thanksgiving and any other holiday dinner we are going to. Yes, I plan on getting Michelle's measuring cups out of her cupboard and using them.
2. Plan out our holiday meals! We will be doing Thanksgiving and Michelle will do the Family Christmas Dinner. I may need to enlist Becky to watch me like a hawk! Especially at Michelle's!
3. Make fitness a priority! During nice weather I normally walk 5-6 days a week anyway but now that the cold weather has set in I must make it a priority to get to the gym to do it. I spend about 90 min doing cardio but with the holidays I must add 10 min extra to aid in getting rid of my extra calories that I pick up.
4.Carry a protein or fiber one bar with me in case of an emergency! You never know when that demon devil will rear it's ugly head and send me searching for my trigger food (FAT)!
5. Keep my eye on the prize! MAINTAIN NOT GAIN this holiday season!
I think I gained about 12-15 lbs last holiday and it took a long time to lose it. I normally say it's only temporary, however, temporary means it will be gone in two weeks or so. I don't want to put myself through that nonsense again.
My new mantra Maintain not gain!
