Day 17 and 18 - Sticking around and seeing results!

Last evening, my friend gave me a compliment. He was just back from being out of town for three days, and when I opened up my door to greet him, the first words out of his mouth were "WOW! You look great!" After welcoming him and a brief chat about how his trip was, he uttered to me: "I don't know how you're doing it, but I can really see that you've lost weight. WOW, you look great!"

We had an interesting discussion last week. I had mentioned that I had gone to the gym after work that day, and we got into a conversation about how I had gained weight since I met him (I brought it up) and he said that he had noticed that my face had become a little 'rounder' (as he tenderly traced a finger across my cheek bone). He wasn't at all negative about it -- it was sweet, actually. This was two or three days after I had made the decision to get back on track and get rid of this weight.

Right now, I'm only about two pounds away from the weight I was when I met him back in June.

All I can say is that his reaction was a huge boost to my motivation.

Today is actually day 18. I'm happy about my progress so far. My clothing is not pinching any more. I'll be able to layer on the sweaters for the winter without looking like the Michelin Man!

I need to make a bigger effort to drink all my water, though (I'm on glass seven right now). I also need to get back to the gym!

Waiting for the boss to get back from his meeting so I can finish processing the files he's reviewing, and then I'm out of here.

  Wow - you are an inspiration to me. I am currently on day 5 and was hoping that after 6 weeks someone would notice possible weight loss. After 15 days is absolutely a booster. Thanks for sharing this experience and keep up the good work!!
