Meat, the Beatles
The 1966 Beatles album Yesterday and Today was initially produced with a cover image of the Beatles dressed in butcher smocks and covered with pieces of meat and doll parts. Shortly after it was printed, Capitol Records decided it was too gruesome and ordered the sleeves to be destroyed or covered over with a sticker of the band in a more sedate pose. Only a few hundred originals made it to the public. A man who bought one such original in 1966 at Sears for $2.99 brought it to Antiques Roadshow. The album was appraised at $10,000.
Dynasty once had its own fashion line based on costumes from the show.
