Seeing risqué ads on SparkPeople?

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

I just saw someone post a blog about this, and several people said in comments that they, too, had seen risqué ads on SP. Guys, I don't know for sure, but if this is happening to you, I STRONGLY suspect you have malware on your computer. I've been on SP for a year and a half and have never seen such an ad.

If you're having trouble with this sort of ad, and don't want to see them any more, go here:

Make sure that it really is an ad that SP is serving you, and follow the instructions to file a complaint. But very likely, it is not SP at all, but rather malware that has infected your browser. (I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you're using the glorious Internet Explorer.)

Check out this article on ways to deal with it:

And if you are using Internet Explorer, consider downloading a different browser:

The top link on the Lifehacker article is to download AdBlock. emoticon

also: adblock! unfortunately, the people who might have malware are also the people who probably have a bit of trouble sometimes doing computer things. like my coworker who randomly clicks stuff and installs 7 toolbars on IE.

I have never seen these types of ads as well. I have been using Spark People for over a year as well.
