First thanks to all who commented on my second blog yesterday. It was depressing to get the news. It is always a reminder how it can happen at any time to any one of us. But I will continue my work to not give my body any reason to shut down.
I was flipping channels on Saturday and came across a 90 minute show on the 2013 Ironman in Kona, HI. Wow, all I can say those people are incredible. 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and a marathon. I am not sure I would ever want to compete in an ironman competition, but one of my ultimate goals is to complete a spring distance tri. Interestingly, I have never done 112 miles on a bike, but I have done 102. I really plan to do 160 next summer and will spend the winter getting ready for that. I keep looking at the distances on the sprint distance and figure the biking part is not an issue. The running parts and swimming parts would be my killer. Especially since right now, I can hardly run anything. I am going to get back in to that though. They do have one in Cincinnati that I am eyeing, I am not too sure about the swimming in the Ohio River part of it though. That river doesnít strike me as very clean. But people do ski and tube on it, so we will see.
Well, last night was a late workout that was basically a 60 minute walk. I decided to just dress for the cold and walk instead of walking to the gym and getting super sweaty then walking home. Either way, I was getting cold by the end, but it worked out well. I havenít walked that far in awhile, so the legs are sore. Today is a rest day, but I may walk for 30 minutes tonight at an easier pace than last night. We will see what the day brings though. I have it penciled in, but we shall see. More it will be just to stretch out the muscles than any type of a real workout. Tomorrows plan is my second HIIT interval session of the week so I want to make sure I save some for that.
