Progress on Dad

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

I've really appreciated all the comments on my last post about my dad's second stroke. Thanks, everyone!

Dad was released from the hospital day before yesterday, and is now in a local rehab facility. He's getting better, but progress is so slow. Hopefully he'll make more progress in rehab! It's tough to see him like this!

Meanwhile, I'm back at work, and in my afterwork time, I'm juggling visits with Dad and graduate school. The deadlines for my last two projects are stressing me out, and I don't have much time for exercising or cooking healthy things. I'm trying to keep quick things in the refrigerator and pantry, like instant oatmeal and bagged salad/veggies. I'm wearing a pedometer, but my steps have been down lately. I'll do the best I can until the semester is done. That'll be a big help.

Just now seeing this…glad to hear your dad is on the mend. Remember to take time for you during all of this.

Take some time to walk. My husband was hospitalized for two weeks with strokes and some complications following a surgery. The only way I managed it was to take a one-hour daily walk. BTW, he's fine now. I wish for you that your dad progresses well.

I'm glad your dad is getting better, and I hope the rehab helps him on his way to a speedy recovery.

Thinking of you and your Dad.
I hope he continues to do well during his time at the rehab facility.
