OMG! That is what I consumed while I was away on the Disney cruise for one week! And wine with dinner every night! And drinks on the dance floor. Good thing I ran 2 miles everyday because I probably would have gained more than 8 lbs. Yes, I said 8 lbs.! Someone told me that I should expect to gain that much. I knew I would gain some weight, but not that much! Good thing I lost more weight before I left in preparation for the this gain.
Upon reflection, I chose healthy options at most of my meals, but I usually do not eat dessert, except on my treat day and I do not consume wine and alcoholic but beverages as much as I did last week. Please do not think that I am upset about my choices. I had fun with my family and friends and I would do it all again because we had the best time. The interesting part about the whole thing is that back in July of this year, when I came back from my week away in Block Island, I really had trouble getting back on track with my food choices. These last few days have been so much easier in that regard. It is as if my body is craving the healthy food, sleep, and exercise routine that it missed last week. When I think back on the life-style change as a whole, I cannot believe that I lived each day without these healthy choices. I feel so much better now in my maintenance mode. It's this feeling that keeps me going.
It was nice to get away, not have to worry about cooking dinner each day, and drink and have fun, but my body feels so much better and healthier now that I am back in my routine. By the way, that spicy pumkin soup recipe that was featured yesterday was delicious. We had it for dinner tonight!
