Gall bladder or what?-followup...

Monday, November 18, 2013

The female doctor I saw thought it was a muscle pull..huh?--no way. But she sent me for blood work (liver, etc.) and ruled out kidney by a urine test. She also told me to use Prilosec for awhile as well as the "BRAT" diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

Most of my gas is gone except one area in the right side of my back.
I have not entirely ruled out gall bladder yet. emoticon

I guess I will do some exercises to get rid of the pocket of gas that is stubbornly staying put.

Thank you all for your experiences and family experiences and advice. You folks are very helpful! I can't thanks you enough! emoticon emoticon

Ouch! Lying on my stomache helps relieve gas.. but sometimes it can be more serious. Glad you are looking into it and hope it is a one time thing.

Glad you're still keeping your self-diagnosis on the back burner. I used the BRAT diet back when it didn't have a name, and it will relieve many of your symptoms. Feel better and stay vigilant. At the time(30 years ago) I took a pill called Digel, and it helped with the gas. Lemons can also help cleanse your system from toxicity (hot fresh lemonade). You're making progress and you're becoming a good student of your own health needs and issues. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
BTW, the gall bladder is on the right side just under your ribs(and I have the scar to prove it!) But the pain can radiate into all parts of your body.

Mine felt like a way too tight bra. The next morning I ate my fettuccini leftovers for breakfast & then thought I was having a heart attack. It was my gallbladder.

Hope that it is not your gall bladder, I have more trouble since it is gone than when I had it.

I hope you get to the bottom of this, with the least amount of trouble and pain.

My attacks were always on the right side-pretty much below the ribs. They usually came on after eating greasy foods or something with seeds like strawberries or blackberries. They diagnosed my gallstones with a sonogram. Hope things quickly improve.

The pain I had from my gallbladder radiated to the right side of my back. Really threw my doctors off. They didn't figure it out until my bile duct was blocked with stones and I turned yellow.

Feel better.

When I had gall bladder attacks, I thought it was just gas, too.
But I don't recall it being on one side or another.
