It is Monday let's have some fun!!!!!!

I had this neat or what I thought would be neat blog put together this morning because I realized that I had been more serious than what I needed to be for the last couple of days so thought that we would celebrate Monday a little differently! I love some of my “childhood” friends and never seem to share these memories so today is the day!!!!! First though I ask that you understand that I try to find things to make me laugh and sometimes I do so and then I wonder why I was even laughing...maybe it is the way John wonders if he should call the Dr.! So this morning I am sharing these experiences with you so I can tell him that I am OK!!!!! And you said so!

First there are some time-lines that you have to know from my childhood that I should share with you!!!!



First is my first true love, in black and white, at a time when life was like this and seemed... o so simple...I have to paint a picture for you. I was 10 years old when Marshall Dillon came into my life. At 10 I was in the 4th grade and only weighed about 135 when others couldn't wait to get to 100#! My Dad and yeah I was a Daddy’s girl was 5'9” and weighed almost 150 #! Got that picture? ON SATURDAY nights just as any school night, I still had to be in bed by 9PM! My Mom was an early riser so she went about the same time! At 9:55 PM my Dad would would come down the hall wake me up and LITERALLY LUG me (so my feet didn't touch the floor and wake my Mom) down the hall....and this how I came to love Matt and be jealous of Miss Kitty!

To show you what I mean, there is one important story that I should share about my Dad....during WWII he actually made Sargent THREE yes 3 times! He loved France and his French girls (this was before my Mom!) So you know how he loved life and laughter and doing what needed to be done to have a good time without thinking of the risk... our Irish heritage! And he was discharged as a private when the war ended...today he would have been held in a different light so see how fortunate I really am!



Today I found my “laughter” with three of my new heroes.... first is my WI neighbor, June who is one of the happiest folks I have ever met, and then my new Hollywood love, Sam Elliott and my new TV hero House (Hugh Laurie after all is there a better puzzle solver in the world?...and believe me this footnote should get me back on schedule so to speak.) And of course a new social media which sometimes I think is getting by me!!!!!

First, June sends me much of what is used in my blogs! From cats to quotes to pure laughter...so you see how special she is!!!!!

That slow talking deep voice saying this...well...you get the old woman's drift!!!!!

Ever think yourself “but a puzzle to solve”?

But moving on!

And smiles are gaining daily!!!! So..............

    Your Dad sounds just like mine. When my Irish Dad was in the army, he was stationed in Italy. The stories he told! I think telling stories is in the by-laws of being Irish. Oh, to hear just one more...!

I remember having to be in bed when "The Jimmy Dean Show" came on - I think it was 9:00. Rolf the piano-playing dog was on that show. He was the first Muppet to be on TV. The older I get, the more I appreciate Jim Henson and Frank Oz and their humor. They enchanted and taught children and had enough subliminal adult humor to keep the adults laughing.

My hero from those days was Perry Mason - and I still enjoy a good mystery show. I think House qualifies as a medical mystery....

    I LOVE the Sam Elliott one! It is SO true!!! (And, of course, that also applies here in SP). I have learned that being online is like advertising to the whole world so I need to be careful what I say..... emoticon I have been on Facebook twice and got out because it drove me crazy. I am going to send the Sam Elliott one to my good friend, Kathy. THANKS! Thanks for the laughter. emoticon

    I loved Perry Mason! Thanks for the memories. Recently found "Emergency", "Adam-12" and "Dragnet" on Net Flix. One of the teenagers where I live sat (more like suffered I'm sure) through an episode of each and then declared she wanted her modern shows back. Her parents and I informed her that when we were her age those shows were modern! :-)

RE: "I may not have gone where I intended to go but I think I have ended up where I needed to be." The picture of the giraffe with that quote reminded me of how I ended up seeing a giraffe up close while in Africa in the early 1990's. I had been hit by a drunk driver and couldn't work or continue in school for a while longer so I took advantage of an opportunity to visit friends living in Kenya at the time. An awesome life experience.
