Wow, might get into the 70's in Pennsylvania

Monday, November 18, 2013

I have been hearing from friends in Ajijic, Mexico where we live and they are really complaining about the cold and wind and even rain. Very rare this time of year. So here in Pennsylvania it is better weather. So will get out and take advantage of it.

Still dealing with FIL remotely and my girlfriend is going to take another doctor to look at him and give him another opinion. This doctor is also going to review all the drugs that he is on. So still dealing with that. We talked to him yesterday and he did sound better than the night before. It's such a shame as I know he was hoping to feel so much better after the back surgery but now he has other types of pain. He wishes now that he did not have the operation. I wish too that we could have known how this would throw him off and that he would lose his ability to live alone. At least he seems to like the place where he is although the food is not that great according to him. When I get back I will have to get things over there and "couch" the gals on what to cook so he can at least have some things he likes.

I hope everyone had a great week end. Have a terrific week and make good decisions.

Soory to hear that FIL is still not as good as before
Sallie. It will be good to have the meds checked by
another doctor as a new opinion is always good.
Nice to hear you are having good weather.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

You're very wise to have his medications checked out by a new doctor. I pray that he begins to feel better soon!!! Have a great "warm" day and God bless you!!!!

By working in a pharmacy for 24 years, I have seen patients over medicated, or the meds were wrong for them. Once they stopped them or meds switched they were better. I would look up each med he has & see the side effects 7 show the doctor the side effects if he is having any of them with the particular medication.

So sorry to hear about your FIL's regrets over his surgery. Hopefully a fresh set of eyes will provide some answers. I can just imagine how you will change up his food. Healthy food can only do him some good! That is good news he likes it there at least.
Hope you continue to have some good weather for your stay!

Central Mexico has been hit with the outer bands of a late storm :( We had cloudy weather even as far north as we are and cooler too (low 80's instead of 90's)
Enjoy the warmer weather in PA!!

Unfortunately I have heard more people say that after back surgery and I have gone to great lengths not to have any back surgery. One Dr. told me if I did not let him do the surgery on my neck, I would have to wear a neck collar 24/7 by the time I was 65. So far my chiropractor has kept me out of the collar and I still have the ability to turn my
head.

Hindsight is always so much better than our foresight. Enjoy the warm day in Pa.

Sending healing vibes your FIL's way. It is sometimes difficult to know what the outcome of a procedure is, but with time and help, maybe his current aches and pains will be remedied as well. Prayers!

Even though he regrets the surgery, I think
his quality of life is more affected by the
meds than the recovery time. It is a shame
he had to leave his home but he will be around
other people, which is a plus.
