Day 29 of CCC. Down another lb. And my pumpkin pie plan for Thanksgiving.

Monday, November 18, 2013

It's day 29 of my calorie correction course and another lb is gone. That's 10 so far. Lest we get too thrilled, this is my catching up from re-gained weight during this year (since March I gained some lbs that I'd previously lost). But I really am very happy to find myself tracking and staying within range. And, of course, consistently exercising.

I plan to break tradition this year and not eat the entire pumpkin pie. I thought I'd cut it up and freeze it. Then, use it as a reward daily when I stay within my range. What a feat this will be as I absolutely LOVE pumpkin everything.

And love you guys. Wish you were my neighbors - such nice people. Have a great day.

    Great plan.
I take a slice and give away the pie.

Even though this is weight you had gained, the important thing is, you are getting it back off.
Good luck with the pumpkin pie!

I'm glad it's working for you. My kids still talk about the time I came home from work (teaching) and ate the whole pie. Frustration will do that. I think it was apple - even more calories than pumpkin.
Good plan to freeze separate portions.

emoticon If we just ate PUMPKIN PIE for Thanksgiving we wouldn't have to worry about a weight gain, but it is all that other stuff that causes the problem. emoticon

Pumpkin pie is great and freezing pieces to eat as treat is a wonderful idea! Spark has many crustless pumpkin pie recipes that cut out half the calories - all in the fat in the darn crust. Consider trying one of them. Here's a link to one I've tried and like: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/reci
pe-detail.asp?recipe=229359.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

    emoticon plan!
emoticon for suggesting it! It would never have occurred to me and now it seems obvious. Also an excellent idea for all kinds of other treats.
emoticon And what a way to thumb our noses at that little eating demon who ways "Pig on, you can only have it now or never!"

I make healthier pumpkin desserts and my family likes them just as much as the unhealthier versions. I don't really care that much for the crust any way.

I had to laugh about the pumpkin pie. I bought a smaller one Wed night. Brought it home, and throughout the night and into the next day, I had a sliver. Which ended up being half the pie. DH came to me late Thursday and asked me if I was saving the second half of the pie for him. I just smiled and said yes. It will be the only pie I will have for the entire 2013 year.
I'm the one who eats plain canned pumpkin all year long as a side dish, or a small meal. I'm with you, I love pumpkin anything!!

Congratulations! Weight loss is weight loss. You are working at it and you're getting the results.

Sounds like you are thinking your strategy out for enjoying what you love in a way that won't derail you. Fantastic.

My desire for pumpkin pie or any sweets has diminished drastically over the last year. In fact for many other things that non-vegan non-raw people eat. This isn't a judgement on others, it simply is a very weird feeling. And, I'm happy about this.
