I read a blog I DID NOT like!

Monday, November 18, 2013

Can't recall who wrote the post suggesting she might be "planning to fail" with evening eating...hit me right between the eyes! That is what I have been doing! I'd do super well all day, go to the gym, eat clean, but in the evening in front of the TV I'd "want a little something". And then it would, nuts, anything I could find and we don't keep "junk" in the house. I realized I had been "planning to fail" almost every evening! I had NOBODY to blame but myself! Not my beloved who bought the pizza and froze it, not my beloved who bought the almonds, but I was to blame because I made bad choices.
I love the blogs at SP! We all want to make ourselves healthier and the support we get from each other is powerful.
Have a blessed day!

Is it really fair to say someone is "planning to fail"? This reminds me just too much of a toxic therapist who did me lasting and real damage by blaming me for "choosing" any bad thing that happened to me.

I don't "plan to fail". I think that's cruel and unfair. I do the best I can. People who blame themselves or criticize other people for failing as if it were a plan need to do some learning about ego depletion and what stress does to people.

And I think it's time to stop looking for someone to "blame", even if the person we're blaming is ourself.

No! I am not going to pretend that I "plan to fail". I do not plan to fail. Often I do fail, but it's not because I plan to do so.

I can't get on board with this "plan to fail" trope I keep hearing. emoticon emoticon

No more planning to fail! It's surprising what we learn about ourselves.

I think a lot of us do that or something similar at one time or another. Our subconscious at work....

You hit me right in the gut with this one. My weekend days were good. The weekend evenings were total pig-outs.
