A Pill A Day?

Monday, November 18, 2013

I've been researching (AGAIN!) a 'cure' for my energy problem. What I have found (AGAIN!) is that to have energy you have to burn energy. WHAT??? I want to pop a pill!!! I want a quick fix! Give me a drink! (An energy drink. NOT an alcoholic drink!) It turns out they recommend good sleep, exercise & healthy diet. Dadblastit!!!!

I'd eat a freaking plant for energy right now!!! Oh, wait fruits, vegetables & herbs ARE plants. You'll find me grazing in my herb garden....

I 'preach' a lot about YOU having to do the work because there is no quick fix. How do you think I know that? Because I have taken every OTC cure for energy & sleep there is! I HAVE taken diet pills! Seriously??? Have you seen that babe who lost 40 lbs & now has abs you can bounce a quarter off??? ALL because she took a pill!!! I want that!

All these meds that can make you fat, but none to make you skinny???? WTH! What was the one that didn't allow your body to absorb fat, but you had to be careful because you might have 'accidents' in your pants? EW! I don't think that's a very good payoff!

Every 'cure' has a downside. Heart attacks, going to the bathroom in your pants, the jitters.

I want a pill that will let me run for 16 hours & then sleep for 8. Is that too much to ask? A pill to make me thin, but not skinny! A pill to stay focused on JUST important tasks...not mundane, boring stuff either!! Maybe a pill to make me successful in ALL areas of my life?

After reading my favorite sites for medical advice I have come back to the same answer as always. I have to work for everything in life! Geez! Always with the work!

Life is not fair - they could put a man on the moon decades ago, but still haven't come up with that simple little pill you're talking about! emoticon

Energy is a funny thing. Eating better, sleeping well, exercising are great things to do but I am sure you also know that if a person seems to be too low energy and are doing those things, it is good to be checked out for possible medical problems.

It is funny you wrote this here today because I run out of juice by 2 PM and then I reminded myself that with advance MS, that's normal. So, for me, I decided to be kinder to myself with this energy thing. emoticon

I read the first paragraph to my husband and he says you are the new Irma Bombeck. Besides being a great friend, you are a an engaging writer. Have a great day...out there exercising in your herb garden.

I agree. If there was such a magic pill, I would have found it long ago. It's the long, agonizing work that's the only way to success.

I think that's why energy drinks are so popular. Most people want instant energy and a lot of it. Yes, as they say, anything worthwhile takes work. Have a good day.
