Mellow Sunday evening...

Sunday, November 17, 2013

It doesn't get much better than a good football game on the tv and Christmas music playing in the background on a Sunday evening. Dh is taking a nap and I'm sitting here quietly enjoying the night.

I can finally relax completely. It has been kind of a rough weather day, all over the Midwest I hear, and the threat of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes have been lingering. The sirens went off a few times, but I am happy to say there was no dangerous weather by me. I hope everyone else has been as lucky!

I've been successful with my food today. I had fast food for dinner, but it was a grilled chicken sandwich and chili, so that wasn't bad. I slept too late to get dinner in the Crockpot, and my belly was crampy and I just didn't feel like cooking. I ignored my craving for fries, though, so I still consider it a victory. Once again, not enough produce... but I'm in my calorie range and haven't eaten any crap, so that's not so bad.

I'm feeling pretty good about things tonight. For sure, I'm still disappointed in myself that I won't have any amazing results for the doctor on Tuesday, but I feel like I'm really getting things going the right way again. Including with my diabetes. My sugars have still been high, but lower, so I'll take what I can get.

Tomorrow will be my first day exercising in a couple weeks. I won't lie and say I'm looking forward to it, but I am resigned to the fact I HAVE to do it. And while I'm not looking forward to the process... I surely do love the way I feel afterward. I might see if dh is interested in going to the park, but even if not, I'm still gonna get in some exercise.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Sunday!

Since I am not a big football fan, I always find other things to do when my husband is watching that on tv. In fact, I said to him, isn't football season over, and he answered, no dear that is baseball! Tells you how into sports I am! LOL
Keep on pushing, you may find that someday you really look forward to exercise, it is hard but you are right that it makes you feel so good after!
My first day wasn't too bad, but I wish I was independently wealthy! and never had to work again, I might miss my patients but I think I would get use to it eventually.
Have a great MOnday!

Glad to hear that you did not have any problems from those storms. It missed us here in PA, moved more in a northerly direction but we did have some rain but not the wind that was predicted. That made me happy because we lose power as soon as the wind blows just a bit.

Christmas is fast approaching, isn't it? I can't believe Thanksgiving is so near!!

Have a great walk!! Glad that you are getting to it!! I have to motivate myself to get to it but like you said, I feel so much better after I have done it!!

You had a great day. Tomorrow I am hitting the gym 10 days after I injured shoulder, it feels fine now and I will do a light workout.

I love Christmas music any time during the year, especially Bing Crosby.

Wishing you a peaceful and resting sleep so you have the energy to work out!

P.S. on the Polenta. I got it for my dad in a tube in the refrigerator section. They may sell it in a bag. I know you can make mush from corn meal. Let me know if you find it.

So glad you didn't get any of those bad storms. I was watching the Bears game and it was on delay for almost 2 hours. Sounds like you had a good day. Hope your DH will go with you tomorrow. I had a good day too. Didn't do much. Went to the grocery store, got a 20lb turkey. We are going to our friends next door for Thanksgiving, but we love turkey so I'll fix it in a few weeks. I took pics as DH and neighbor took down a tree in our front yard that was hit by lightening over the summer. We measured it after it was down, 70 feet! I knew it was big. We had been guessing, so just had to measure. Hope you have a good Monday! Hugs
