Reasons-A Fraction

Sunday, November 17, 2013

On a laptop long since dead, I had an enormous list of good reasons for healty/fitness-minded living. Note that I'm not talkin about reasons to be thin. Just reasons to keep my fitness and strength at the forefront of my mind, no matter what my size.

I lost that list, but last year, 2012, Oct, I began this one and then I forgot about it until I found it on my phone just now:

Reasons-Partial List
Braids (arms up)
Bicycles
Ice skating
Paddle boarding
Ocean caves
Scuba
Bodyboarding
Hot air balloons
Concert seats
Airplane bathrooms
Kneeling
Squatting
Low angle photography
Beach cruiser bike rides
Barstools
Picked-Up Kissing
Hula Hoops
Hula Dancing
Ocean Shorelines
Sunsets
Sunrises
Hiking Vistas
Stargazing
Bonfires
Picnics
Full-Body Massages
Running
Racing
Kid-Chasing
Long Piers
Skiing
Hawaii Homeland
Packing/Unpacking
Laundry (Lessened)
Shorter Showers
Double Occupancy Showers
Beds
Balance Beams
Boxing Rings
Rings
Jewelry
Clothing Choices
Shoe Options
Hot Days
Shower Curtains (changing)
Painting Walls
Brushing Teeth
Washing Face
Potty
Dressing Rooms
Non-handicap Stalls
Close Cars Parking
Gardening
Doing Dishes

And..
Flying to see family
Chairs with arms
Booths
Hot Air balloons

It boils down to fully functioning living, ease and comfort of physical tasks that involve standing, lifting my arms, or bending. I am grateful I have never been disabled, but I can sympathize, and have had enough of a taste for it to imagine vividly how difficult it could be.

I want health and vitality.

This is really what it all comes down to, eh? Being healthy now, so that when we go about the business of living and loving the rest of life, we do so from the deepest parts of our existence. The joy we have at feeling healthy just spills over into every other act in life. I love your list, and like Malia (SDLOVER) said, I bet that list was even longer when you first began your journey. It's in seeing how far we've come, that we can capture the strength to see how much further we can go. You've come so far, and you're capable of so much. I'm rooting for you, always.

I think about things like how out of breath I'd be after tying my shoes from a standing position, or how difficult it was to get a seatbelt fastened.

That's an excellent list and really opens up our eyes to being aware of some of our limitations.

Let's do the best we can with what we have at every moment. Would be cool to see you scuba diving in the future!

Have a good week.

That is an amazing list of things a lot of people take for granted. And I bet when your journey started that list was a lot longer. You've come a long way by putting your health first. I know you can cross off that whole list by keeping that mentality. emoticon
