I started Cathe Friedrich's DVD program: XTrain. I got a great deal on Amazon for $74 for 9 DVDs! It's about $100 on her site. I'm a week and a half into it and am loving it! It's very strength-training focused. There are some cardio workouts, but only a couple times a week. Mainly it's focused on weights. There are a couple bi's and tri's workouts, a couple chest/back/shoulders, two core workouts... You can do a 30 or 90 day program. I decided to do the 90 day program. I'm already noticing changes in my body. Also, I am finding that I'm stronger than I thought I was! I'm pushing myself to lift heavier weights than I usually would. She uses a lot of of 25's and 30's though and the highest I have is 20's. I do have a 25# kettlebell that I use for some of the single weight exercises. She uses the gym size step (step aerobics bench) and mine is smaller, but so far it's only affected one of the dvds where she has you do jumping jacks on and off the step. I just do them on the floor, I'm afraid I'd twist and ankle if I landed wrong since my step is shorter than the one she uses and I would have to shorten my stride for the jumping jack. She uses the step bench as a weight bench to lay on, but I have a regular weight bench and just use that. I almost went out and bought a new step for this (saw one on sale at Dunham's for $75) but I don't think I'll need it. I'd rather use the money to buy heavier dumbbells. My favorite DVD so far is the Cardio Legs. It's a fun workout and really works! It's a great full-body workout and I'm loving it so far!
