Sunday morning in the 'burbs....

Sunday, November 17, 2013

I live in a mostly quiet neighborhood. The neighbor next door just moved out (probably to a memory care unit) as I have not seen him for a couple of weeks. His children appear to be getting the house ready to sell. The neighborhood is about half or more older people who have lived here 30 to 50 years (I have been here about 30 years). The others are mostly young couples with and without children. So when I hear kids outside it is an unusual thing and that certainly breaks the quiet. Right now at 9 in the a.m. on Sunday it is totally quiet. There won't even be leaf blowers running today cause it rained yesterday and during the night. The grass is done growing for the season so after the leaves are cleaned up the loudest sound will be snowblowers and since our worst blizzard in the last 50 years or more was on Halloween about 15 years ago. So it is possible to have another blizzard since we are halfway into November. The second worst blizzard was a couple of years ago the first week of November....so we are waiting for the white stuff to accumulate soon. I just heard a crow making a small racket but otherwise it appears is all peaceful on the Western front. emoticon

I want to buy that empty house! The people two doors down put their dogs out and leave for the day and the dogs bark ALL DAY LONG...I don't know how the people on the other side (closest to the dog run) can stand it, it's bad enough from this distance.
Could you bottle up some of that quietude and send it to me? Please?

great .. I remember the snow of 52 . I was twelve or so . that four foot blast really knocked us all on our butts . the men cleared the road to cove road . so travel for fire trucks could get through to save everyone . yes the year our son was born we had another bunch of snow . it is possible to get it again .
