The last week or so has been hell, and I've been totally oblivious to healthy eating. Remarkably, I didn't do a lot of emotional eating, but I did zero food prep, and I ate out a lot; I have not been making the best choices.

Today is a big birthday party for everyone with birthdays around this time. I'm so glad we are doing this all together. ONE cake, not five. And it will be the last hurrah until the holidays. But Thanksgiving won't be a big pig-out day for me anyhow, since I'll be visiting my grandmother in her assisted living place.

So it's time to regroup and plan for success. I have a freezer well stocked with veggies, and those brown rice cups I like to have with the veggies. I have canned and dried beans. I have oatmeal and frozen fruit. I have ZERO fresh fruit or veggies, though. That's ok for now. I can have frozen fruit with my oatmeal. And I made a big batch of soup on Friday.

I guess I'm not doing so badly. Well, after today's party, I should be back on track!

I can completely understand emotional eating part of our life. I also had very stressful weekend and I was completely fallen off the wagon entire weekend. Seems like I add few pounds of weight back on me too. (Yikes!! what a a bummer!) I need to be a good girl all this week and get back on to my wagon.

You need to make sure you are getting a variety, so you don't get bored with your food. I am finding that Winter is not my best time for my journey. I need that good fruit, and right now I am not getting any. I am eating apples which I despise and they don't seem to do the trick. Bananas once a day because of their richness, but the yummy ones are out of season emoticon Are you using spices? Herbs? Check em out! I am using curry, and cumin way more than I ever have, and it's pretty good with chicken, and turkey. I waited all Summer for Winter, now I want Summer back!!! lol Hang in there, once you put your mind to getting healthy you will do fine. I have been struggling, missing enough calories and just having a rough time, it's not an easy road for any of us. Always set backs, and any other thing that might happen to us, but pop back up and put that gate back on "your" wagon! MJ

    Not bad at all!!!
Maybe it helps to take a moment to visualize what you intend to do and eat / not eat. Often helps me.
