Amazing what a difference one day can make...

Saturday, November 16, 2013

First of all, thank you to all of you that took the time to leave comments for me. I appreciated every one of them, and gained a lot of new insight. You are all awesome!

I've had a successful day today with my eating. I've stuck to plan all day. The only blemish is not enough veggies {didn't I just say yesterday that I needed to eat tons of veggies??}, but it has still been a pretty healthy day. I made Greek eggs with turkey sausage and whole wheat toast for dinner and it was yummy. And pretty low cal. I should have had extra veggies with it, though. I have had 2 servings of fruit that have replaced crap, so yay!

I didn't get in any exercise today, sadly. To tell the honest truth, I have gotten so out of the habit of walking that it didn't even occur to me that I should do it until it was nearly dark. And I don't walk outside in the dark around here. I don't need exercise THAT bad. Tomorrow is gonna be a no go, too. We're supposed to get strong storms late tonight and all day tomorrow. This is some odd weather we're having lately. BUT after tomorrow, I'm clear to exercise for days with no impediments from the weather.

I've done MUCH better with my blood sugar today. It has run high every time I've checked it, but much lower, and the more important part is that I'm actually remembering to check it and to take my insulin. I'm pretty proud of myself. It's only one day, but it's starting things off right. And I feel better. I always feel so crappy when my sugars are soaring, you'd think that would serve for better motivation! Still, I'm moving in the right direction with it. Hopefully soon it will become habit and won't be so d@mn hard to remember!

The ugly side of the day... TOM is starting. Being like clockwork is very weird. It's only the 2nd month, but I have started in the evening on Saturday both months, and that's strange. It's good that I knew it was coming, but I still feel poopy. I'm not as much of an emotional nutball as I was last month, though, so that's good. I'll take any little improvement I can get!

Now I'm off to spend some quality time with the hot water bottle and a magazine. Hope everyone has had a happy, healthy Saturday!

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Each day is a new day to start over so keep on with the good choices and they will become so ingrained you will wonder why you ever ate the other types of food! You can do it Cat, just remember one day at a time!

Sounds like you had a nice day even with TOM. I am so glad that I don't see TOM anymore!!! emoticon I like to walk outside too but I have to drive to a park where the trail is flat. I have a bum left knee and we live at the bottom of two hills so can't walk in my neighborhood either because of that. On inclement days I use my treadmill as long as my knee is cooperating and if not, I walk around my house. Boring but I mix it up with some dancing. That is such great exercise!! But again only if my knee is not acting up!! I have to agree with Proudnm there are lots of ways to get in exercise. And sometimes you just have to be creative about it!! emoticon

Yay!!! Congrats! So glad you had a good day after not feeling well on Friday. Steps are steps, no matter how small or large. They all add up, and the fact that you felt better today is proof. Hope you have a great Sunday also!

As far as exercising, perhaps you can follow along with 1 or 2 of the videos here on spark when it's too dark out to walk or when the weather isn't so great. They have a ton of 10 - 15 minute ones that are great and not too hard to follow along with. I know I find a few to bookmark every day I'm on here! Just thinking that it can be a way to get in exercise when you really want to despite what's going on outside.

Get to feeling better soon, and have a great night!

Congrats on having a much better day. Baby steps are the way to go. I finally cleaned up my act this week and exercised 3 days. Not great but I've been way more sporadic than that. I feel better in just a few days. Is there some sort of exercise you can do inside when you can't be out? I like Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. Keep up the good work!

I am not much into walking outside either in my neighborhood but I will walk all around my house!!I look pretty funny at times I am sure...my two little dogs will stare at me like I am crazy!! Lol! But basically what I am saying is you can exercise anywhere..jog in place, pace the hallway,go up and down your steps..if you have steps emoticon .. emoticon

You had a good day,and the Buckeyes won! Congrats on watching your blood sugar and taking your insulin! It is good you are going to have decent days to your walking soon. I enjoy it when I can go out of the house and breath fresh air. I hope Sunday is as positive as today was.
