The fortune tellers are a hit

Saturday, November 16, 2013

The grandkids love them! And love that we made it all about good nutrition. They even wanted to take them with them when they went out to dinner with the ex wife last night. of course my DH and I stayed home even though we were invited. We decided to rent a movie and watched The Heat with McCarthy and Bollack. It was okay but too mush fowl language for me and I am not a prude. I did send along a little gift for the ex wife with a thank you note from me for arranging the doctor appointment for me so I could get my prescriptions to stay. I got her one of the nice yummy pumpkin candles.

Today I think we are going as a family to see the Liberty bell.
hope you all have a great day.
Sallie

Very thoughtful gift for the ex! So glad the fortune tellers were a hit! You have gotten something going!
Thanks for the movie review! I am never impressed with foul language. Seems today every second word has to be a swear word. Hearing young people talking its just a shame. I watched a old movie, Midnight Run (1988) which had so much cussing there were a lot of blanks in the speech where they had silenced it. Something to be said for watching movies on public television. The worst of the junk gets cut out.

I remember seeing the Liberty Bell many, many, many years ago before it was in this new location. It's really truly awesome to see it! emoticon emoticon

Should be fun going to see the Liberty Bell.
I remember going to see it when I visited my
cousins in Aliquippa many years ago and
they took me to Philly.

Oh, yes, I remember those fortune tellers. I'll do that with my grandkids, too. Great idea. Yeah, my daughter sometimes serves very sugary breakfasts, too. Last week the kids had chocolate donuts, 1% milk, and red raspberries for breakfast. Not all junk, but definitely too much sugar. The 6 year old is BMI 17.1 and at the 82nd percentile for height-weight, so she's okay but toward the top of the healthy range for her age.

You are smart to keep the contacts with the ex wife positive! You've already seen how it came back to benefit you. Pumpkin candles sound lovely.

Sallie, you are a nice person through-and-through to write a lovely thank you note and a little gift for the favor the ex did.

Glad the fortune tellers were a hit! You're a good Grandma.
