THEY ARE JUST NASTY
Whether it is their walk, their talk or their look, there are some people who we believe are just nasty. It could be their mannerisms about how they use their body in ways we don’t agree with. It could be their language and how they say things we don’t believe they should say. It could be their clothes, their hair, their nails, and yes even their eyebrows. Our opinion of others who we believe are just nasty shouldn’t keep us from associating with them as God has called us to.
Acts 10:28 “Peter told them, ‘You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.’” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us to never think of anyone as pure or unclean. There are things others do and say that we don’t always agree with but that doesn’t mean they don’t need You. Help us to reach out to others who are different than us and help them. Help us to reach out to others who we may be uncomfortable around and talk with them. Allow Your Holy Spirit to work through us to do the things we can’t do on our own that will help those who we once believed were nasty. Change our minds, our attitudes and our actions so we can show them Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When someone appears to be nasty in our eyes, it may be the way we choose to look at them.
When we believe someone is nasty due to what they say and do, God may be telling us to help them.
We need to look for ways to help those who seem to be unapproachable to others.
If we continue to avoid people based on their appearance, we aren’t living as God wants us to live.
Our actions toward others should be the same no matter if they appear nasty to us or not.
James 2:3-4 “If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?” (NLT)
