Last night I was surprised with a visit of 3 great friends. The brought the wine, cheese and crackers. We sat and talked, laughed and cried.
I had a full glass of wine (something I never do) and was offered a second glass. I knew enough about my glucose levels to refuse the second glass. If I had been prepared, I would have just filled my glass with water. Why is it that no one offers me water?
My strategy when visiting is to have half a glass at the start, and all the water refills that I can handle afterwards.
Today I will run the trail, and get my blood sugars back down where they belong.

What a nice unexpected surprise!! I hope you had a great time, even if you did indulge...but that is life. My apt. is on 3 levels: a basement, a first floor, and a 2nd floor. I keep bottled water upstairs simply because it's easier for me to carry a case up once rather than to remember to bring it up with me at the end of the day. Maybe when you have guests over, you can offer THEM water.

You did well! How nice to have special time with friends!
I'm getting together with 3 of mine - we've been friends since high school - to play Scrabble and have lunch.

Good job! You know, that's funny about the water because when I have company I always have a water glass set @ each place for just that purpose, because I am the same as you -- wine tastes wonderful and I do have it, but just small, small amts. then my system can handle it.

HUGS and have a great Saturday.

I am glad that you had such a great time with your friends. It is always nice to kick back and enjoy yourself once in a while. We all have a little bit of a cheat time now and then. I wouldn't worry about it. It is not like you drank the whole bottle yourself!! I am sure all the hiking today will get your BSs back to where they usually are!!

So you had fun last night with friends and you will be having fun today doing what you love!! emoticon

I do drink wine occasionally, but too much makes me sleepy and I can't enjoy the company. A glass of water looks a lot like white wine and it's something to hold and sip.

Enjoy your trail run.

You can always ask for water, or just go get it. You don't have to wait for the offer. I don't drink alcohol at all, and I learned long ago that once people get past the initial surprise that you don't want what they want, it isn't an issue.
