Friday Night Knitting Club

Saturday, November 16, 2013

On to my Friday Night Knitting Club. My friend from church called to ask what time and she was first there. Good thing too, cuz the next 5 people who came, were all NON-knitters....So, it was actually a Knitting Lesson.... lady and her 7 y.o. ADHD dd, they sat on either side of me. But, I forgot how much fun I have with kids... exhausting, but very fun... And then there were a Gr. 10 library helper and her Gr. 5 sister... They were quite independent, and once I showed them, only had to help them maybe 3 times each and they were both well on their way... My friend worked one on one with the other lady, it went quite well.... I said we had an over 400% success rate!!! I think a good time was had by all......

I was expecting something like a knitting girl's group, but instead I got to teach, reminder of what I'm missing. But no one was ready to leave at 8:30, and everyone took their project home with them.

Well, I did get one pkg of the chicken breast deboned etc. tonite, much to the amazement of the mouse who decided to come out on the kitchen counter and watch me...... SCREAM, SCREAM! Then I took the chicken to the table to finish and when I went back to the counter, he was still there, hiding down in the corner.I thought the screams alone would have been enough to scare him to death, but not so! Kind of takes away your motivation to cook!.... I didn't even want to be in the kitchen... time to de-clutter..... and re-organize and get food away so the mice will leave... wishful hoping or what, eh? I can;'t even put poison out cuz of Buddy, so the other option would be a cat!!! or borrow one!!!!

How lucky for those girls to have you to teach them! I think it's great that they wanted to learn. Hope your mouse situation improves.

Buddy might like a kitty buddy! :) Traps are the option you didn't mention - no poison, and no litter boxes that need cleaning. :)

It sure sounds as if you're a born teacher, Lila. I know you were thinking about a part time job. Any opportunities to use your gifts in your new town, maybe even for tutoring?
