Food Rut

I have to change some of my eating habits. I probably do what a lot of people do. I start out eating healthy. After a while I get bored with the "healthy" food.

I need to expand the type of food that I eat. My family doesn't like change so I have just tried to make over the recipes that I can. That has limited the food I can make.

I have decided to go through the spark recipes and plan meals for a couple of weeks. I have found a chicken and broccoli recipe that looks really good. I also found a crispy chicken recipe that I thought would go good with my mashed potatoes that I make with broth instead of milk and butter. Add some green beans and it is perfect. Have a lettuce salad to start add a little homemade apple sauce and Yum!!!

I can't waite to find more recipes now. I'll try to figure out this meal planning thing. emoticon

    I like your idea of trying new recipes. I am thinking I need to revise my entire diet about now. I want to find 8 healthy meals to rotate through and after I start getting tired of them I'll start trying a new recipe once a week. =)

    Planning is key and make sure that you keep your favorites too. portion control, small plate and put your fork down between bites. Before that have a glass of water before you eat. emoticon

    finding and trying out new recipes is what keeps me going. My DH is one of the most finiky people on this planet, so a lot of what he gets is reheated items I've made in batches then heat up. Hey, if he doesn't want to try new things with me, he can stick with frozen reheats. lol My goal is to try at least one new recipe a week. many of the great ones have become favorites of family and friends too, so just keep experimenting. :)
