Nice visit with my daughter

Friday, November 15, 2013

So my daughter Samra came to town for her 10th high school reunion with her guy Carl. They stayed here at the house on a nice queen sized air matress that they brought along. They even brought along their own towels, who could ask for better house guests. lol It was so nice to see them. We had a great time and an early Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving dinner went well. Turkey turned out fantastic, along with all the other goodies. Had some wine (which is rare for me). Carl was a big help as my sue-chef, he works in food prep for the school district that they both work for. Even fed my daughters best friend Sara and her cousin Jessie, who happened to show up at the right time. Sara is like a daughter to me (her mother passed away earlier this year and her father is dying too.) Neither Sara or Jessie has had the easiest life's and don't get a good home cook meal very often. So many of Samra's friends came by to see her and it was great to see them too. Most of the kids have called me Mom for many years.

Regarding bowling that I did last Friday. Well I did not do too good. I know it was too dark to see any marks on the lanes because they had all these blinking lights with rock video's on the walls. Also none of the kids or most of the adults did not know protocol rules for bowling. I just tried my best. Sat. my back killed me and Sunday reaching for the wine glasses I pulled something in my lower back. I was in pain most of the weekend. Really need to get back to the gym and lift light weights to build up strength again too. Still had fun. Rosa purchased a mixed platter of food for everyone. Most of it was junk (fried) but they did have a few sliders, so I had one of those along with a celery stick and one drank water.

Hope everyone is doing great!

You are one lucky, lovely lady!! I loved it when kids came home and their friends would call me mom. Tried to teach my kids to cook and they weren't interested. Now they are the cooks in their families. (2 sons, 1 daughter) My oldest is beginning to try more "fancy" foods like prime rib roast etc. Wants to try it out on us and his inlaws. Does a great job too.

I don't bowl anymore as my back muscles can't handle it (they can't handle much anyway) but sure had a great time when we did bowl on a team. Take care of that back!!

Sounds like an awesome visit! Glad everyone had a good time and was well fed! My mom never had only her 3 children for any occasion! When she passed, it was touching to hear from so many lives that she touched! You are a blessing!

Sounds like you had a GREAT Thanksgiving Dinner! How nice that your daughter and her guy showed up as well as your friend's girl and her cousin. Nice to have help with the meal, and a family gathering this time of year is what makes it special! emoticon emoticon
