When the night falls on you

Friday, November 15, 2013

We got our toddler back from outpatient operating room and he's slightly ornery, but pretty much himself. I wasn't super worried or I wouldn't have gotten his teeth done under general, but there is that 1:200,000 chance of an adverse event. I slept very poorly last night. All this for tooth decay that started when he had GERD as a newborn.

So I was mostly assured in all this being normal and routine for the people who always do it, but there's that slight slight chance and all the weird stories you hear when your sister is in medical school.

So glad that he is doing well. I know I would be terrified! Is his GERD better now? I had that as a small child myself, and my teeth weren't so great as a child either, never thought about a causal relationship.
