Yesterday, I experimented with food at the BX. I thought I didnt have any leftovers left for lunch so I went over to the BX to get a salad. (turns out I had one more leftover for lunch, so I will eat that today instead). I got the salad, but the smell of french fries was too much and I just HAD to have them. I mean, french fries are potato - they cant have gluten in them right? So instead of double checking, I ordered them and ate them. Honestly, they werent that great. And later that day my stomach started hurting - granted not as bad as it had been, but enough for me to notice and not be ok with it. :( I googled and it said that some places fry their french fries in the same fryer basket that they fry chicken strips (which do have gluten in them). *sigh* Guess now I know better. (I know it was the fries because everything else I ate during the day I have eaten in the past week and a half with no problems and the fries were the only "uncertain" when it comes to gluten). I'll live and now I know better.
I am happy that coffee isnt affecting me - its not even triggering my acid reflux! I have been subbing french vanilla coconut creamer for my dairy creamer and I cant even tell the difference!
Yesterday, I had to do my T25 workout after work, before dinner and dance class. By the time I got home from work I was totally not feeling it. But, as if i was on auto-pilot, when I got home I just let the dog out, went upstairs and changed into my workout clothes, came back downstairs, and pushed play. It was the Total Body Conditioning workout. Yup - I am totally lacking in conditioning. That was hard. I quit before the last 5 minutes, and I am sore this morning. I also went to dance class last night and we did A LOT of jumps. My shins are feeling pretty tight - not hurting - just tight. Foam roller and I are going to have a date later. After I do my double T25 workout today - yes, the program has double workouts on Fridays. Who thought that was a good idea? Oh well.
I saw a 3lb gain on the scale from yesterday to today. I ate within my calorie range so the scale is stupid. I'm sure its water weight because my sodium was really high yesterday compared to the past week and a half; and I ate fries that upset my stomach. I am only weighing everyday so I can try to understand the fluctuations a little bit better. My clothes feel fine. I know it's nothing to worry about. But I'm not going to lie - I just want to reach the 10lb lost mark. I'll get there. Eventually.
I've spend A LOT of money recently, between plane tickets for Thanksgiving, my expensive Whole Foods shopping trip last Friday (I'm trying the commissary today instead), and purchasing a ton of fabric last weekend, though those were for Christmas presents, and then I also bought new protein powder last week that was disgusting, new sneakers that came yesterday and I cant wait to wear during my T25 workouts today, and I ordered a few quilting patterns for the Christmas presents. So I cannot spend any excess money this weekend, except for food and necessities. Well, I do need to order backing/binding fabric for the quilt projects, a free motion quilting foot for my sewing machine, and purchase batting. But again, all for Christmas present creation. No more buying personal stuff.
Which is hard because in my family, when you are stressed you shop. It's probably the worst habit we have. :( I need to take the dog to the vet for vaccines so I guess that is a necessity. But paying someone to redesign my personal blog can probably wait. I also plan to donate my hair, which will entail chopping it off, getting it cut and styled, and fixing my color, and that is going to have to wait for a while too - hair is expensive. There are a bunch of other things I want to purchase, too. If it wasnt the holiday season, I would just buy it all myself, but Christmas presents first. At least with all of the sewing I need to get done in the next month and a half that should keep me really busy and out of the stores, and for the most part away from online shopping, too.
Time to figure out what foods to cook for the weekend and next week so I can plan out my grocery shopping list for after work. The weekend's plan look something like this:
Friday - grocery shop, T25x2, cook dinner
Saturday - run, T25 (ab workout), sewing, cooking
Sunday - rest day, sewing, cooking
Perhaps we'll find something fun to do also like go to a movie - I actually think we should go bowling so I am going to keep pushing that one. Havent been bowling in so long, but I bet it would be fun!
