As a past time, walking comes 3rd to only reading and listening to music for me. I have always loved walking. For many years, I was car-free and walked everywhere and then I bought my 1st car and boy did the weight pile on! But that was eons ago. And the in-between could be a book:-) So long story short, I am getting my walk back on and enjoying it. After getting off night-shift, I thought, I would jump right back to my routine walks but I tell you even good things take time to adjust to.
But anyway, 3 months down the road, I totally feel my walk coming back. I walk 3-5 times a week mostly around the neighborhood in the morning and then a long walk on one of my off days on a nearby trail. Tuesday, the temperatures were nice--upper 30s and I took a nice leisurely walk. Yesterday and today, have been much cooler and have necessitated a brisk pace. I sure do love a brisk morning. I layer and bundle up. The wind has been strong but I push myself out the door and what do you know, 35-45 minutes later, I have 2+ miles walk. What could be better?
Well, a nice brisk evening such as now. Sitted right by the window cracked open, feeling that cool fresh air:-)
