Week 2 of BSG November Challenge Thanksgiving! Brilliant Scarlett Team

Thursday, November 14, 2013

This year is the 2nd year since my husband passed away. Last year I didn't feel much like celebrating Thanksgiving or Christmas. This year though I miss Ray very much. I have come to realize that I can't stop doing things because he is gone. My roommate and I have decided to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas together.

I have lots to be Thankful for this year. I have lots of friends here on Spark who has helped me through the rough times. I have a awesome roommate who has taken me into her home. I hace found a church home where I have discovered my Lord and Savior still there for me. I am also grateful for my family.

Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Just now taking time to check out things and saw this blog. Boy does it hit home. Here I am facing these holidays only two weeks after Bill passing away. What makes it even harder for me is that he loved Christmas so much. This year though the kids decorated early so he could see it. I am glad to know you are celebrating this year as it gives me hope. I will be praying for you because I know it will still be difficult. Hugs my dear friend.

Oh, Debbie. I have been thinking of you and can't believe it has been two years, since your sweetheart has gone.

My heart cries for you, but I am happy to hear the joy you are finding, as well.

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. He is watching over you and smiling.

Debbie, I can understand how you feel but I am glad that you and Leslie are such good friends / roommates that you want to spend the holidays together. I hope the two of you make new holiday traditions and memories together and that you have a great time together. You have a great attitude and fighting spirit! I know Ray would be happy that you are going on with your life.
